Timberlost Outfitting - Location

Timberlost Outfitting is remotely located between Big River and Leoville, Saskatchewan. It is situated in lush northern Saskatchewan boreal forest, approximately 140 miles north of Saskatoon. Saskatchewan Environment has rated this area as one of the best in Saskatchewan based on deer habitat and density. The black bears and Canadian geese are plentiful and well worth the trip to Canada! The clear waters of the numerous lakes in the area are teeming with northern pike, walleye and rainbow trout. There is ample opportunity for fishing after getting your monster whitetail or big bear. We have thirty four non-resident deer tags on 66,000 acres, and twenty non-resident bear tags on 88,000 acres. We recently just purchased migratory game bird licenses and ten ag black bear licenses so we can hunt in the farm land. Take a look at our location via Google Maps

Your Stay with Us

Timberlost Outfitting - Your Stay With Us

Once arriving in Saskatoon the day before your hunt, you will go to your hotel (Sandman Hotel) and contact Devin Beebe at 306.821.2726 and let him know you arrived safely. Everybody usually goes to the Shark Club in the Sandman Hotel for a meet and greet the night you fly in, around 8 pm. The next morning Devin will pick everybody up at 9:00 am in the hotel lobby and off to Leoville you go. We can make a stop at Wholesale Sports if you need any last minute hunting supplies and also stop at a liquor store to pick up alcohol, water and soft drinks. Once in Leoville we unload all the hunting gear out of the trucks and onto the 4-wheelers and start the 10 mile quad ride into the hunting camp. Once there you will get settled into your rooms, sight in your rifles, and get all the licenses straightened out for the next days hunt.

The main lodge is magnificently finished with pine interior, a wood burning stove, a bathroom and shower, full kitchen and living area. First class meals are prepared fresh by a trained chef. Homemade baking is a welcome treat while awaiting the ‘big one’ from your tree stand. Timberlost Outfitting provides a hot tub, satellite TV, and a cell phone booster. Each day starts early with a hearty breakfast, after which you will be guided to your stand on your own quad.

Timberlost Outfitting - Whitetail Deer

All of our 35 deer stands are monitored by its own Cuddeback camera, which combined with knowledge of recent deer sign in the area allow us to provide you with the best shot at getting a trophy buck. All stands range from 14 feet to 24 feet high and are tarped with a camouflage skirting to hide movement. The bait piles are 100 yards away from each stand. For our 2010 whitetail season, we had a 157 B&C gross score with an 88% kill rate with 100% opportunity on a buck that is over 140 B&C. We have a 98% success rate for our black bear. There is a fee for any deer shot scoring under 140 B&C gross. We take pride in our deer management and as a result send many hunters home with trophy deer. We control the predator populations in the area and work hard to attract deer by putting out mineral and feed.

Timberlost Outfitting - Bear Stand In Memory of Wade Higgins The Beebe Family at Timberlost Outfitting

Timberlost is owned and operated by Devin Beebe. This area was previously owned by the late Wade Higgins, with Otter Creek Outfitting. The staff at Timberlost are all local seasoned hunters and guides. Timberlost is family oriented, with Devin’s dad, Tom, and longtime friend, Dustin, providing first class guiding and hospitality. We aim to provide you, the hunter, with a once in a lifetime experience. Guaranteed, you will be entertained by many humorous stories over appetizing dinners. There is ample opportunity to relax after dinner and enjoy the view of the lake right outside of the main lodge. Not a dull moment will be had, as there is also a wood fired hot tub to warm up the frigid Canadian nights.

Timberlost History

Timberlost Outfitting

The name Timberlost is from the community of the same name that was founded in the early 1900s in this area. There were two schools, a church and a post office. Due to the remote location of the community, the settlers were forced out of their homes by the government in 1950. Devin’s grandfather Frank was one of the pioneers who called the wilderness town his home.
